Guest spots at Buttercat

Buttercat Tattoo is a street level studio just off the bustling Cuba St. It’s worth noting that while the studio does get walk-ins, the bulk of the work done here is artist driven. We will announce and advertise for you but it definitely helps if you have a client base in Wellington already.
The studio rates are 80/20 (artist/studio) and we will provide all the basic supplies like glad wrap, razors, cleaning materials, bottle bags, paper towels/baby wipes, an autoclave etc. It’s worth noting we have a heat lamp thermal copier for stenciling (TIM A4 Thermal Copier).
The studio is open from 11am-6pm Tuesday-Saturday. Generally the crew show up at 10am so we can hang out and get set up but you’re welcome to come in whenever. We do ask that you aim to finish by 6pm (if you have tattoos that run a little overtime don’t stress, someone will just hang around until you’re done to close up). Our studio has a combination of full-time and part-time artists so depending on the length of your stay you may be set up at different stations on different days.
The studio minimum is $150 and the hourly rate averages at $200. You’re welcome to take payment however you like but we ask that you provide the shop cut in cash at the end of your guest spot.
